Day 1: Marrakech → Aït Ben Haddou → Dades Region

Your desert adventure kicks off early in the morning as you leave the bustling streets of Marrakech behind and ascend into the High Atlas Mountains. The winding route through the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass offers unforgettable views of valleys, ancient villages, and snow-capped peaks.

The first major stop is a step back in time at a remarkable clay-built ksar, famous for its traditional architecture and cinematic history. After taking time to explore its labyrinth of alleys and enjoy a leisurely lunch, the journey continues past the oasis of Skoura, rich in palm trees and old kasbahs.

By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in the Dades Valley, where dramatic rock formations and winding gorges shape the landscape. You’ll settle in for the night in a local guesthouse, enjoying a peaceful evening in the heart of southern Morocco.

Day 2: Dades Region → Todra Gorge → Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

After a hearty breakfast, the trip heads toward one of Morocco’s most iconic natural wonders: the Todra Gorge. Towering rock walls flank a narrow canyon, creating an otherworldly setting perfect for a scenic walk and photographs.

The route then winds through the arid landscapes and small desert towns of the southeast. Along the way, you’ll pass through regions known for fossil discoveries and date plantations before reaching the edge of the desert.

Upon arrival near the dunes, you’ll trade your vehicle for a camel, embarking on a magical ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes just as the sun begins to set. The rhythmic sway of the camels and the ever-changing colors of the sand create an unforgettable moment.

Your evening will be spent in a desert camp, where you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner, live drumming under the stars, and an immersive cultural experience far from city lights.

Day 3: Merzouga → Draa Valley → Ouarzazate → Marrakech

Wake up early to witness the sun rising over the golden dunes, a serene and unforgettable moment that captures the essence of the Sahara. After breakfast, begin the journey back toward Marrakech.

The return route takes you through the palm-filled Draa Valley, a region steeped in history and lined with ancient fortresses. Along the way, you’ll stop to visit one of the region’s famous kasbahs and explore a town known for its ties to the film industry and desert architecture.

Crossing the High Atlas Mountains once more, the tour comes full circle as you arrive back in Marrakech by early evening. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation or a central meeting point, leaving you with cherished memories of Morocco’s majestic desert landscapes and cultural richness.
