Day 1: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – Rose Valley – Dades Valley – Tinghir
Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Ouarzazate and start the tour with a visit to the iconic Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. This ancient fortified village on the caravan route between Marrakech and the Sahara is famous for its striking mud-brick architecture and its role as a filming location for movies like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. After exploring the Kasbah, return to Ouarzazate for visits to the Atlas Studios and the historic Taourirt Kasbah.
Continue your journey through the stunning palm groves of Skoura, the fragrant Rose Valley, and the dramatic Dades Valley, ending the day in Tinghir city where you will have dinner and spend the night in a hotel or riad.
Day 2: Todra Gorges – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Rissani – Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes
After a traditional Moroccan breakfast, visit the spectacular Todra Gorge with its towering orange cliffs rising almost 1,000 feet. This natural wonder is a favorite among climbers and hikers alike. Enjoy the lush palm and almond groves of Todra Valley before continuing through a series of Berber villages including Tinjdad, Melaab, Erfoud, and Rissani.
Arrive at the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi where you’ll embark on a camel trekking adventure at sunset, crossing the glowing orange dunes to reach your desert camp. Spend the night enjoying Berber music around the fire and the incredible starry sky.
Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Middle Atlas Mountains – Midelt – Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara dunes. After breakfast and freshening up, ride back by camel to Merzouga town. Begin your journey toward Fes via Errachidia, passing Erfoud, Aoufous, and the scenic Ziz Valley with a stop for panoramic views.
Continue to Midelt for lunch and then drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Azrou’s Cedar Forest, where you can see wild Barbary macaques. Stop briefly in Ifrane, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco,” before arriving in Fes in the evening. Your tour ends with a drop-off at your accommodation in Fes.
