Day 1: Tangier to Chefchaouen
Start your journey driving through the pristine Rif Mountains, where sea and mountain views blend beautifully. Pass through Tetouan, a city rich with Spanish influences and a charming medina. Arrive in Chefchaouen, the famous blue pearl of Morocco. Spend your afternoon wandering its narrow blue-and-white streets, visiting artisan shops, and relaxing in the lively Uta el-Hammam square. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast, explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, renowned for its mosaics and classical architecture. Then head to Meknes, an imperial city where you’ll visit iconic sites such as Bab Al-Mansour gate and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Continue to Fes for an evening in a traditional riad.
Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Merzouga Desert
Journey south through Ifrane, known as Morocco’s “Switzerland” for its alpine charm. Visit the cedar forest where wild Barbary macaques roam freely. Stop for lunch in Midelt, then cross the scenic Ziz Valley. Arrive at the edge of the Sahara in Merzouga, where a camel caravan awaits to take you across golden dunes to your desert camp. Enjoy Berber music by the fire under the stars.
Day 4: Merzouga Desert – Boumalne Dadès
Leave the desert behind and travel towards the Dadès Valley. Along the way, stop in Erfoud, and visit an ancient irrigation system demonstrating traditional oasis farming. Explore the breathtaking Todra Gorges with a walk by the river. Continue to Boumalne Dadès and spend the night surrounded by spectacular mountain landscapes.
Day 5: Dadès Valley – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
Drive through the fragrant Rose Valley of Kalaa Magouna and the palm oasis of Skoura. Visit Ouarzazate’s famous film studios and Kasbah Taourirt. Explore the striking UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, featured in many famous films and series. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, with stops to take in the dramatic views before reaching Marrakech. Your tour ends here with a drop-off at your accommodation.
