Day 1: Welcome to Fes
Upon your arrival at the airport, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the chance to get a first glimpse of the city or simply relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Exploring the Cultural Treasures of Fes
Spend the full day discovering the spiritual and intellectual capital of Morocco. Visit architectural masterpieces like the Bou Inania and Attarine madrasas, explore the labyrinthine souks, and stop at the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque considered the oldest university in the world. This is your moment to soak in the soul of the Moroccan medina.
Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Merzouga
After breakfast, set out for the south. Travel through the lush landscapes of Ifrane often referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco” and then into the cedar forests near Azrou, home to wild monkeys. Continue through the Ziz Valley with its palm groves and kasbahs before reaching Merzouga. Here, you’ll mount your camel for a magical ride into the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Spend the night in a desert camp under a star-strewn sky, complete with traditional dinner and music.
Day 4: Full Day in Merzouga – Sahara Discovery
Wake early to watch the sunrise paint the dunes in gold and orange, then return by camel to your hotel. Today’s off-road adventure explores the unique culture and natural beauty of the desert: visit Dayet Srij Lake (home to seasonal flamingos), meet local Gnawa musicians in the village of Khamlia, and encounter nomadic families living in the desert. You’ll also follow part of the legendary Paris–Dakar rally route before returning to your Merzouga hotel for the night.
Day 5: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
Begin your return journey to Fes, passing through the historic town of Rissani and the vast Ziz Valley with its palm oases and cliffside kasbahs. Continue into the Middle Atlas, pausing to watch the wild monkeys of Azrou’s cedar forests, and enjoy a final stop in Ifrane. You’ll arrive in Fes by the afternoon, with time to relax and reflect on the journey.
Day 6: Farewell to Fes
