Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Upon arrival at Marrakech Menara Airport, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, you may have free time to relax or explore the city on your own.
Day 2: Marrakech – Telouet – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, begin your journey across the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying photo stops along the way. Take a detour to the village of Telouet to visit the historic Glaoui Kasbah. Then continue through picturesque mountain villages to the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, a remarkable fortified ksar with earthen clay architecture. After lunch near the site, head to Ouarzazate, known for its cinematic history and desert landscapes. Optional visit to local film studios and a stop at Kasbah Taourirt before settling into your hotel.
Day 3: Ouarzazate – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga (Sahara Desert)
After breakfast, drive through the palm groves of Skoura and the fragrant Valley of Roses. Continue to the dramatic Dades Valley and then to Tinghir, a town nestled at the base of the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Stop to explore the impressive Todra Gorges, a favorite among rock climbers. After lunch, journey through desert towns like Tinejdad, Touroug, and Erfoud. En route, observe the ancient Khettarat irrigation system. Arrive at the dunes of Erg Chebbi near Merzouga, where a camel ride will take you into the heart of the Sahara. Witness the sunset over the dunes before arriving at your desert camp. Enjoy dinner and traditional Berber music by the fire.
Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
After breakfast in the desert, depart towards Rissani to explore its traditional market. Continue through the Ziz Valley, known for its lush palm groves, and pass through Errachidia and the scenic Ziz Gorges. Stop for lunch in Midelt before continuing through the cedar forests of Azrou, where you may see native Barbary monkeys. Make a brief stop in the alpine town of Ifrane, nicknamed “Little Switzerland” for its European architecture. Arrive in Fes by late afternoon.
Day 5: Guided Tour of Fes
Enjoy a full day exploring the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco. Begin with visits to the Royal Palace gate and the historic Jewish quarter (Mellah). Explore key landmarks such as the Al Quaraouiyine University (the oldest existing university in the world), the tanneries, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss. After lunch, visit the artisan ceramic and tile workshops, followed by a panoramic view of the medina.
Day 6: Fes – Meknes – Volubilis – Chefchaouen
After breakfast, depart for Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Visit its grand gates, royal stables, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Continue to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, known for their well-preserved mosaics and columns. After exploring the archaeological site, drive north through the Rif Mountains to the vibrant blue city of Chefchaouen.
Day 7: Chefchaouen – Tetouan – Tangier
In the morning, enjoy some free time to explore Chefchaouen’s charming medina, blue-painted streets, and artisan shops. Around midday, depart towards Tangier, passing by the hillside town of Tetouan and the lush Rif Mountains.
Day 8: Tangier – Asilah – Rabat – Casablanca
Begin the day with visits to notable sites in Tangier including Cap Spartel, the Sultan’s Palace, the Necropolis, and the famous Hercules Caves. Afterward, travel south to the coastal town of Asilah, where you’ll have time to walk through its artistic medina and perhaps buy a souvenir. Continue to Rabat to visit the Kasbah of the Udayas, Hassan Tower, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Arrive in Casablanca by evening.
Day 9: Casablanca – Marrakech / Departure
After breakfast, visit the stunning Hassan II Mosque, perched on the Atlantic Ocean. Then, depending on your flight time, transfer to either Casablanca Airport or return to Marrakech for your departure.
